Use:
COVID-19 PCR Collection is used to diagnose people who are infected by the virus SARS-CoV-2, which is the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. This is considered to be the gold-standard for diagnosing COVID-19 because it is known to be the most accurate and the most reliable test.
Ask your doctor:
You will need to ask your doctor for a laboratory requisition that states this blood test. Your doctor can either fax it to 860-532-1922 or drop the order here.

If this is for an upcoming surgery or medical procedure, please have your physician indicate this in the order to help avoid delay of results.

Keep in mind:
The tests are processed by the laboratory of you or your physician's choosing. The turnaround time is usually between 1-3 days but will depend on the backlog of the laboratory. If needed, we would be happy to help follow up on your results.

COVID-19 IgG ANTIBODY TEST
Use:
This antibody test helps identify individuals that have already contracted COVID-19 and developed antibodies as a result of the virus. This IgG antibody test is designed to detect antibodies that were created in response to an infection, but are unable to detect antibodies that result from vaccination.

Keep in mind:
This antibody testing can not be used to determine one’s protective immunity levels post vaccination. For post vaccination antibodies, you will need a different kind of antibody testing called "Spike Protein", which is described below.
COVID-19 SPIKE PROTEIN IgG ANTIBODY TEST
Use:
The vaccines produced by Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer-BioNTech use mRNA technology to help patients develop antibodies against the virus without having been infected by COVID-19 itself. Messenger RNA essentially ‘teaches’ human cells how to produce the spike protein present on the surface of the coronavirus. This in turn elicits an immune response that allows the body to produce antibodies that are effective in fighting COVID-19 spike proteins. By measuring the presence of the spike protein in your IgG antibodies a few weeks after you’ve received your second dose, your doctor can now determine whether you have achieved ideal protective immunity levels after receiving the vaccine.
